BBD is Moxie’s new Hindi film

MUMBAI: Kolkata based Moxie Entertainments has announced its next Hindi production BBD, to be directed by Anjan Dutt.

Dutt has earlier directed Bada Din, Bow Barracks Forever and The Bong Connection.

BBD, a political thriller, will star Naseeruddin Shah, Jimmy Sheirgill, Kay Kay Menon, Sandhya Mridul, Rituparna Sengupta, Sonali Kulkarni, newcomer Shauvik and a host of actors from Kolkata.

Neel Dutt will score the music for the film. According to a release, the film revolves around three young men – Binoy; a young model-actor from Mumbai, Badal; a hard-boiled honest Kolkata cop and Dennis; an ex-rock musician junkie who has migrated to the US – who are thrown together due to unusual circumstances.

BBD will be shot on location in Kolkata. The camera will follow the characters extensively through the city, its streets, buildings and nightlife. The film’s climax takes place in BBD Bagh, which is historically significant to the film.

It will be shot in a ‘film noir’ style, says the release, in a realistic but at the same time highly dramatic style.
