Krrish hits Rs. 690 million jackpot

Mumbai: In spite of controversies, stiff reviews by trade pundits and world cup fever, India’s answer to Superman, Batman and Spiderman, our very own superhero Krrish has created waves at the box-office.

Serpentine queues can be viewed outside cinema-houses even as the film commenced its historic second week-run. Advance bookings for the film continue to be unprecedented. The movie has mustered an unheard-of Rs 690 million worldwide in its first week and continues to be a one-horse race at the box-office.

Rakesh Roshan was very thrilled. “Yes Krrish has hit a jackpot, its 69 crore in one week, I have also increased the prints by 12 in India,” says a jubilant Rakesh. This money-spinner from Rakesh Roshan is shattering all previous records and is well on its way to becoming one of the biggest hits ever in the history of Indian cinema.

Krrish that re-wrote history by releasing as much as 1,080 last week now has 1092 prints.Yash Raj Film Distributors have hit a jackpot a second time after Fanaa.
