Love Story 2050 to release mid 2007

MUMBAI: Harry Baweja has completed shooting 50 per cent of his film Love Story 2050, which stars his son Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. The cast and crew of the film have just returned from Australia post the shooting.

What’s more, this Rs 400 million (Rs 40 crore) film has eight Oscar winners on board. “Weta Workshop, which had worked on films like Lord of the Rings and King Kong and is a five times Academy Award winner will be doing the special effects for Love Story 2050. Besides, UK based companies like The Guild and VTR along with Prime Focus will also be contributing towards the special effects,” Baweja informs.

The music of the film has been composed by Anu Malik, whereas the songs have been rendered by Kay Kay, Shaan and Alka Yagnik and choreographed by Remo. “We recorded two songs of the film and shot them in Australia,” says Baweja.

Incidentally this is also the first film in which Malik has demanded IPRS of the songs and signed a contract with Baweja. “Anu has been working very hard on the music of my film. To compose the theme song of Love Story 2050, he worked on seven tunes and we finally agreed on one of them. I must say it has the melodies of an evergreen song,” Baweja adds.

Talking about his son Harman, he says “We shot a lot of action sequences in Australia and Harman has not used doubles for any of the action sequences. They have been done by him under Alan Amin’s guidance.”

The remaining shoot of Love Story 2050 will resume in Mumbai by November end. “The segment of the film, which projects Mumbai in the year 2050 will be shot in the city itself and sets will be designed by Nitish Roy who had worked with me on Qayaamat,” says Baweja.

Plans are to release the film after July next year.
