Imran Khan pins hopes on Puneet Malhotra’s I Hate Luv Storys

MUMBAI: Imran Khan is one relieved actor. After a dream debut, the actor’s charm lost its fizz at the box office as his successive films failed miserably. But Khan has got his hopes raised after he has completed shooting for I Hate Luv Storys, from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

The film is being directed by Puneet Malhotra and has Sonam Kapoor opposite Khan.

Imran, who got picky after his films tanked, grabbed the opportunity with both hands when this film was offered to him. He said, "There are some decisions you regret and some you are fortunate to make. From the first day I was happy with the unit of I Hate Luv Storys. They do their pre-production work well. It is the same set up that was there when I shot for Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na."

Imran, who has been tutored in the business of films by his perfectionist uncle – Aamir Khan, tells Businessofcinema.com, "Small things go to make a good film. The script being ready before shooting starts is a must. We were given our dialogue sheets a day before the shoot. We knew exactly what was required from us on the set, each day. There used to be discussions, but it was never like, Oh, let’s wait for some lines to be written before a shot would take place."

Shooting for I Hate Luv Storys is complete and post production is on in full swing. Imran has moved onto shooting for another film – Kunal Kohli Productions’ Break Ke Baad opposite Deepika Padukone, but he now swears by a bound script and a good pre-production detail, before he signs on the dotted line.
