Indian producers explore filming opportunities in France

Mumbai: Maison de la France India and Film France had organised a visit for Indian producers to French regions of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Rhônes-Alpes to explore these locations for their future shoots.

Oscar Films’ Sridhar Viswanathan Lakshmi, Mukta Arts’ Ravi Gupta, UTV Motion Pictures’ Niranjan R. Patwardhan, Ananda Pictures’ Suresh Laxmanan and freelance producer representing Pictures Limited and Popcorn Motion Pictures Shenaz Bomanshah Nadirshah were a part of this delegation.

Some of the places they visited include PACA, Rhônes-Alpes, Nice, Provence, le Lubéron, Lyon and massif of Mont Blanc.

"Helping producers discover the regions of Côte d’Azur and the Alpine mountains has allowed us to broaden the Indian producer’s perception of France. In this manner we will be able to increase the number of Indian film shootings in France which, in these last few years, were concentrated only on Paris and Corsica", explains Film France deputy director Franck Priot.

UTV Motion Pictures’ film Fashion, which is being directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and stars Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut will be shot in France from August.

"Promoting France to the Indian producers is the current important project we are working on and which is fundamental for our strategy in this market," explains Maison de la France India director Karim Mekachera.
