MUMBAI: Indrani Mukerjea’s INX has acquired the satellite rights of yet another Balaji Motion Pictures’ film. Mission Istanbul, which is being produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and directed by Apoorva Lakhia, is the fourth film after Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Darling and My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves, sold by Balaji to INX.

Confirming the same to Businessofcinema.com Balaji Motion Pictures CEO Ramesh Sippy says, “Yes, we have sold the film to INX. We were looking at four films from the very beginning of our association with the channel.”

According to information available with Businessofcinema.com, the rights have been acquired for Rs 60 million (Rs 6 crores). However Sippy refused to comment on the figure.

When queried as to whether they have inked a deal of sorts with INX, Sippy says, “No, there is no deal between INX and us. Also, since we have sold these four films to INX, it does not suggest in any way that alll our films will be sold to the same channel. At the end of the day, it all boils down to the highest bidder,” informs Sippy.

Mission Istanbul, is a co-production between Balaji Motion Pictures and Suniel Shetty’s Popcorn Entertainment. It stars Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Shreya Saran, Nikitin Dheer and has Abhishek Bachchan in a special appearance. The film has already hit the floors and is expected to be wrapped up in two schedules. It will be shot in Istanbul and Mumbai.
