MUMBAI: Indrani Mukerjea, Chairperson, INX News, announced the appointment of Vynsley Fernandes as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company. This would be in addition to his existing role as Group Director â€“ Network Operations, INX Media Pvt Ltd.
Indrani Mukerjea said, â€œOur mission is to set up NewsX as Indiaâ€™s first truly world class news channel, and Vynsley, who has immense experience across all aspects of the business and especially on the News side, provides tremendous value to NewsX. He is a senior member of the INX Network, and his added expertise with commercial planning is a great asset to the overall operations of NewsX.â€

With 19 years of rich media experience, Fernandes, who is Group Director â€“ Network Operations, INX Media, was instrumental in setting up the entire broadcast and network operations for 9X and 9XM in a very short span of time.
Prior to this, he was instrumental in setting up the Tata Sky DTH (direct-to-home) business, and as Project Director for STAR News, set up the channel and managed the operations of the news business. He was General Manager Operations – CMM Studios, handling the Buena Vista Television, MTV, and Discovery Networks accounts. Fernandes has also held the role of Programming Head – News & Current Affairs, at Plus Channel TV India, where he produced and anchored over 200 episodes of a daily business show.
