Red release postponed to 2 March

MUMBAI: Horseshoe Pictures has rescheduled the release of its second film, Red – The Dark Side, to 2 March from 23 February 2007, to coincide with Holi.

Horseshoe’s first venture was Mr Ya Miss, in association with Ram Gopal Varma. Sources say the release of Red has been postponed because major territories have not yet been acquired by distributors.

The film stars Aftab Shivdasani, Celina Jaitley, Amrita Arora and Sushant Singh. Produced by Sunil Chainani and Sameer Srivastava, Red is written and directed by Vikram Bhatt. Lyrics have been penned by Sameer and Himesh Reshammiya has provided the music score.

Says Chainani, “We have sold the Delhi-UP to Abhi Films. Adlabs is releasing the film overseas. Music rights have been sold to T-Series. There are multiple deals being inked currently, which will be finalised in a few days.”

About the film, he says, “Red is a romantic thriller with lot of suspense elements. It is an intense love story set in an urban metropolis of India. It is a hard-hitting tragic love story of an individual who risks his life to protect his love. Aftab plays Neel Oberoi, a guy who has survived a near death experience.”
