Irrfan Khan’s injury delays Pan Singh Tomar shoot

MUMBAI: Actor Irrfan Khan has torn the ligament of his right ankle while shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Pan Singh Tomar. The actor returned to Mumbai today after the doctor ruled out any action.

Talking about his injury to Businessofcinema.com, Khan said, "Since it is a ligament tear, doctors have said that the recovery will be based on the rest I take. So all shooting has been stopped for the time being. Pan Singh Tomar’s shooting in Rourkee has been completed and we have one schedule left, which will take place in a month’s time."

Khan plays the title role of Pan Singh Tomar, which is the true story of a steeple chase athlete who came out of a dacoit struck area to make a name for himself but returned to his hometown only to pick up arms and turn into a dacoit.

After shooting in Jaunpur in Rajasthan, Chambal in Madhya Pradesh and Rourkee in Uttaranchal, the unit may shoot the last schedule in Pune, after a month.

As for Khan, he is also playing a role of a wildlife photographer in Italian director Italo Spinelli’s Choli Ke Peeche which he will start shooting after Pan Singh Tomar.
