Jag Mundhra’s Shoot on Sight rolls in London

MUMBAI; Cine Boutique Entertainment has started shooting with Naseeruddin Shah in London for its upcoming film Shoot On Sight, according to producer Aron Govil.

The film, directed by Jag Mundhra (who last directed Provoked starring Aishwarya Rai), boasts a cast comprising Brian Cox, Greta Scacchi, Stephen Greif, Om Puri, Laila Rouaas, Sadie Frost and Mikaal Zulfikar. The shooting is expected to end by mid July 2007.

Naseeruddin Shah plays the lead role of Tariq Ali, a Muslim police officer attached to Scotland Yard, who is asked to hunt down suspected suicide-bombers against the backdrop of the 7 July bombings in London. Tariq’s task gets complicated as an innocent Muslim is killed by the commando shooters of Scotland Yard. On the other hand, the Lahore-born Tariq – a British citizen married to an English woman with two children – is himself a suspect in the eyes of his colleagues, despite his long service in the police force.

“Our storyline is based on Scotland yard’s order to shot suspicious Muslim terrorists after 7 July 2005 London bombings that resulted in social profiling and it highlights the predicament of predominantly peace loving Muslims in face of Islamic extremism,” says Govil.

Cine Boutique Entertainment, launched by Govil, a New York based industrialist and LA based director Jag Mundhra, is a vertically integrated entertainment media company engaged in the business of production, marketing and distribution of quality films for global crossover audience.

Shoot On Sight is expected to be released by the end of this year.
