Kalki Koechlin gets into character for Shaitan

MUMBAI: Kalki Koechlin found a novel way to get into character for her role as a spoilt brat in her forthcoming film – Bejoy Nambiar’s directorial debut Shaitan.

The actress, prior to the shooting of the film, got rid of her current playlist on her iPod and replaced it with dark and morbid music to get under the skin of her character.

Reveals a source, “Kalki plays the role of Amy – a spoilt rich girl and to get into character she’d keep listening to these gloomy goth songs right until she finished shooting and dubbing for the film. She is very excited about the film and is quite a perfectionist herself.”

Produced by Anurag Kashyap and co-produced by Tipping Point Films, Shaitan is the first of its kind film on teenage angst and the rebellious attitudes of youth in metropolitans, where one night of drunken partying leads to twists in events.

The movie also stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Neil Bhoopalam, Shiv Pandit, Kirti Kulhari and Gulshan Devaiah. Shaitan is slated to release on 10 June, 2011.
