The southern legend Kamal Haasan whose ambitious project Marudanayagamwhich was being made in Hindi, English and Tamil is being revived. The film is based on a revolutionary who fought against the British Empire. A major shooting schedule for the film was held long ago.
Even Britain’s Queen Elizabeth had visited the sets of the film. Kamal’s ex-wife Sarika was designing most of the costumes for the film too. The film had to be shelved as his financiers fled.
Peter Martis, the official spokesperson of Kamal Haasan has confirmed the news. “Yes it is true that Kamal Haasan is reviving his ambitions project Marudanayagam very soon. Some 4 years back his financers from France disappeared from the scene in wake of Kargil war. Being a huge budgeted film, the progress of the film had to be stopped. But now Kamal is taking keen interest to revive the film. He will now produce it himself. 30 minutes of the film have already been canned.”
