MUMBAI: Kareena Kapoor will soon play a character sketched much on the lines of the American actress Marilyn Monroe for Madhur Bhandarkar’s next.
Monroe who shot to fame with her comic roles in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, The Seven Year Itch, All About Eve was renowned for her famous link-ups, health issues and for being a thorough diva had much speculation over the cause of her death.
Bhandarkar who has been researching the subject for quite a while now approached Kapoor since he was of the opinion that only she could do justice to the character.
Reveals a source “Madhur ‘s film is inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s life which is quite a controversial subject in itself however after having his material in place and convincing Kareena Kapoor to play the lead he has no doubt that the film will turn out well.”
Bhandarkar known for his style of mirroring reality in his films, is currently in talks with male actors to star opposite Kapoor.
