MUMBAI: The desired box office report may have been slightly disappointing for Lara Dutta, but the actress has no remorse about working for Priyadarshan. Said the actress, who has been experimenting with different looks for some time, "Be it Laila from Jhoom Barabar Jhoom or Bindiya from Billu, I have enjoyed every role and most importantly I have convinced my audience that I can pass off both these diverse characters."
Billu has been produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s home production, Red Chillies. In the last couple of years, Dutta has been very selective about choosing her films with big banners. She explained, "I did Billu irrespective of the length of my role. The roles were simple, but it was a special film. We had faith in the story and all of us were very happy with our film."
But now Dutta has moved on from Billu to the Do Knot Disturb project. Vashu Bhagnani’s film will be Lara’s next release. Comedy has been a genre that has won her a lot of accolades. Her hysterical suspicious character in Anees Bazme’s No Entry was hilarious and Dutta is smart enough to get back to the genre that she was hugely appreciated in.
