Love GuruMumbai: Based on Rajneesh’s famous book Sambhoj Se Samadhi Tak, the Rs 10 to 15 million (Rs 1 to 1.5 crore) Love Guru is slated for release in 2007.
Love Guru stars Natasha and Janki (of Shaquue fame) with Tarun Arora and Rocky Sandhu playing the male leads. Directed by Raahul Kapur, the film is scripted and produced by Yunus Sejawal and is presented by Evershine Films Pvt. Ltd.
Kapur makes the transition from the small screen to the big with Love Guru. His claim to fame thus far has been TV soaps like Kuch Jhuki Phalke on Sony, 25-episodes of Karishma Ka Karishma on Star Plus and Phool Aur Patthar on DD-1. Canned in Mumbai and currently in post production stage, the rumours doing the rounds are that Love Guru is another Girlfriend
Love Guru”Love Guru is my debut film and has all the ingredients of an entertainer. It is based on Rajneesh’s famous book Sambhoj Se Samadhi Tak. It does have acts of lesbianism but we have concentrated on comedy, rather than making it look like a sex-based film.”
Earlier, in June 2004, writer-director Karan Razdan tried to woo cine-goers with lesbianism in Girlfriend starring Isha Koppikar and Amrita Arora. The story about the possessiveness of one woman towards another proved profitable at the box-office. Made on a budget below Rs 20 million (Rs 2 crore), the movie recovered almost twice the investment.
