Manisha Koirala with her brother in Anwar

MUMBAI: Producer Rajesh Singh has cast the brother sister duo of Siddharth and Manisha Koirala for his film titled Anwar. The movie is made under his banner Dayal Creations Ltd and is being directed by Manish Jha.

Earlier Singh has also cast Shilpa and Shamita Shetty together for the first time in Fareb.

“My first venture Fareb brought both the Shetty sisters – Shilpa and Shamita together for the first time and now again in Anwar I have brought Manisha and Siddharth together for the first time. Siddharth plays the title role of Anwar, who is a young artist, who leaves his home in order to escape a world he doesn’t recognize. He finds himself trapped inside a temple and in the process is exploited by people with vested interests. While Manisha plays the role of the electronic journalist who tries to capitalize on the event for her channel,” says Singh.

“The film is based on a true incident that occurred in our country. We are already getting offers from distributors but we are still in negotiations. Plans are to release the film in December,” he adds.

Siddharth Koirala says, “It was fun working with my sister for the first time in Anwar. I play the character of a Muslim boy and the film is about what he goes through when he is trapped inside a temple.”

Apart from Manisha and Siddharth; the film also stars Nauheed Cyrusi, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav and Hiten Tejwani.
