NDTV Lumiere takes World Cinema Wednesdays initiative to Kolkata

MUMBAI: NDTV Lumière has joined hands with The Park Hotel – Roxy to bring the World Cinema Wednesday’s initiative to Kolkata.

World Cinema Wednesdays kick starts with Jacques Audiard’s off beat romantic thriller Read My Lips on 4 February at 7 pm.

It will provide movie lovers with an opportunity to watch contemporary cutting edge cinema from around the globe. It will also present critics and film enthusiasts from different backgrounds a platform to share their views, opinions and thoughts. World Cinema Wednesdays will hold its screenings twice a month on every alternate Wednesday at 7 pm and will be free to everyone.

NDTV Imagine senior vice president – new ventures Dhruvank Vaidya said, "Kolkata is known to be a city which appreciates good cinema and we are confident that with World Cinema Wednesdays, we would be able to give cinema lovers in Kolkata the best of world cinema regularly. We are very happy to partner with The Park Hotel for this property."

The Park manager events & entertainment Namrata Ray added, "World Cinema has a niche audience in Kolkata, and not enough places where people can get together to watch it. In an endeavor to bring guests ‘events with a difference’ Roxy has tied up with NDTV Lumiere for World Cinema Wednesdays between 7 – 9 pm every alternate Wednesday to fill the void in this space. We are certain that the association will be a huge success and that World Cinema lovers will finally be able to get together under one roof to enjoy a great film over a glass of wine and cocktails!"
