MUMBAI: The garb of a de glamorised heroine is over for Neetu Chandra. After a sans make up, simple girl in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Chandra will be seen wearing short dresses with oodles of oomph in Anees Bazme’s latest film.
Bazme shot the first schedule of his film in the current hot spot of Bollywood South Africa. Chandra has been cast as a sexy chick who is doing a lot of action and also wielding a gun. Just back from South Africa and still jet lagging, the actress revealed, “It is so much fun to dress up as a sexy little thing. But to add to my character I have a lot of action to do. From taking on goons and kicking real butt, I also have a small hand gun, which I have had to use. And to make it really natural Anees ji gave me a real gun. I actually fired five shots with it.”
Chandra is part of an ensemble cast that has Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sushmita Sen and Kangna Ranaut. Keeping pace with two fashionistas, Chandra admitted, “They are really gorgeous, but Anees ji has ensured that my character too has a lot of meat. The action scenes were difficult because of the extreme climates, but as there was a huge cast and we all had fun doing it together.”
The second and ultimate schedule of the film will resume in Cape Town in November and wrap up by December.
