New film city to come up at Kasara

MUMBAI: A film city, complete with state-of-the art studio and equipped with the latest technology and a resort exclusively for people associated with the entertainment world will soon come up at Kasara in Maharashtra.

Sources say the project is being funded by a Saudi investor, who plans to pump in Rs 10 billion (Rs 1,000 crore) to erect the film city in Kasara, an idyllic township near Mumbai.

Pravin Rathod is the chairperson of the project, say sources, while a few film stars and other luminaries of the entertainment industry are being appointed on its board of directors.
