MUMBAI: Box office celebrations have been few and far between for the Yash Raj banner. Apart from Chak De and Bachna Ae Haseeno, the banner has had little to cheer about in the last two years. But with New York, the banner looks revitalized.
Making the most of it, were the producers, who decided to throw a bash at the Yash Raj Studios, last week. The party was for the cast and crew, who partied hard and till late in the night. A close friend of the lead actor said, "The party started around 11 and continued till 5 in the morning. Everybody was in high spirits."
After the party, John Abraham returned home to do a hurried packing for his 2 month outdoor shoot for Abbas Tyrewala’s film. Katrina Kaif, who has been shooting round the clock, took the flight to London directly from the party for a much deserved holiday.
Buoyed by the success of New York, Yash Raj Films is now readying for Dil Bole Hadiappa, which is its next release. Shahid Kapur and Rani Mukherji share the honours in that film. And on the floors is Jugal Hansraj’s Pyar Impossible, which has been shooting rather frenetically at the Yash Raj Studios. It stars Uday Chopra and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. Perhaps a good start to the year, may spell a good omen for this banner.
