Om Shanti Om premiere enthralls UK fans

LONDON: Fans flocked from all over at the Empire Theatre at Leicester Square; just to catch a glimpse of King Khan in person. Thousands of fans waited right from 5:30 pm onwards at the venue of the world premiere for Om Shanti Om that released on 9 November.


Walking the red carpet were Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shreyas Talpade and MP Keith Vaz amongst a host of other personalities. Director Farah Khan and producer Gauri Khan however were missing at the premiere.


The entire cast of the film expressed their excitement of being in London for the premiere. Speaking to Businessofcinema.com Arjun Rampal said, “It’s a film filled with energy and it was a wonderful experience for me to work in the film.” Shreyas Talpade added, “The team was great to work with, and when the team is great the experience of a film is always great. Working with Shah Rukh and Farah is the best thing one could ask for.”


Shah Rukh Khan who was the clear reason the hoards of fans turned up were only too thrilled when he took time off to sign autographs and click a few pictures with his fans. Similarly Deepika Padukone obliged her growing fan base by talking to them and expressing her gratitude for their love and support.


When Businessofcinema spoke to her, she said, “I’m glad Om Shanti Om is my first Bollywood film, I am thankful to Farah Khan and Shah Rukh for selecting me to do this role. It is more than a debutante can ask for.”


When quizzed about her excitement on being selected as the Kingfisher Airlines brand ambassoder she added saying, “I was happy when it happened. I had done the Kingfisher calendar earlier and am just delighted with being selected the brand ambassador.”


After all the fan fare, the stars were quickly ushered into the premiere where the invited guests awaited for the movie to begin.
