Parzania’s Gujarat release descion next week

MUMABI : Rahul Dholakia’s controversial English film Parzania will now be viewed by the film’s distributors and select audiences in Gujarat next week to decide the fate of its release in the state.

Dholakia was in Gujarat on Friday to finalise the film’s release, with the cooperation of distributors in Gujarat. Parzania is based the real life story of a Parsi couple coping with the disappearance of their son during the Godhra riots of 2002. The film will be dubbed in Hindi soon for screening on satellite channels.

“I have planned a special screening of my film for the distributors and select audiences in Gujarat on Monday or Tuesday, to decide the fate of its release. My film was to be released in six theatres. I made this film for people in Gujarat so that someone may even locate the lost boy and return him to his parents. If my film could have sparked riots, then I would have never made it,” says Dholakia.

The film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika in the lead roles.
