PEN case against Mehul Kumar on 17 Feb

MUMBAI: The Mumbai Metropolitan Magistrate has fixed 17 February 2007 for the hearing of the case filed by Popular Entertainment Network (PEN) against director Mehul Kumar.


 


PEN director Jayantilal Gada had filed 12 criminal complaints against producer – director Mehul Kumar of M/s MK Pictures on charges of non payment of his dues under section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, a few months ago. The Metropolitan Magistrate had issued 12 summons under the Criminal Procedure code in the regard and the hearing is to be held next week.


 


Says Gada, “I have financed Mehul Kumar during the making of his Kohraam, Kitne Door Kitne Paas and other films. He had promised to return my money within 18 months, but more than five years have elapsed since. He did issue me a cheque which bounced. I am only asking for my money back. He has to pay me Rs 14,192,000.”


 


Mehul Kumar was unavailable for comment.
