Percept to roll 22 films by 2008

MUMBAI: Percept Picture Company is planning to roll out as many as 22 films by 2008.


 


While four films are ready for release, nine films are in the pre-production stage and will go on floors by November end. Apart from this, more than 10 films are in various stages of development.


 


Percept, which is presenting Deadline will be released tomorrow (10 November) followed by films like 50 Lac, Mp3 and also Madhur Bhandarkar’s Traffic Signal.


 


Percept Picture Company COO Mahesh Ramanathan says, “It gives me great pleasure that we are in the forefront of this entertainment revolution in India. It had been our constant endeavour to churn out films that connects with the masses and entertains them at the same time.”


 


“The films, which are going on floors are Dhol with Priyadarshan, Johnny Walker with Shoojit Sircar starring Amitabh Bachchan in April 2007, which will be followed by Tasveer with Nagesh Kukunoor starring Akshay Kumar in May 2007. Nagesh Kukunoor’s Aashayein starring John Abraham is slated to release by the end of 2007. We will be back with the sequel of Hanuman, which will be released in November 2007. One of the most interesting projects of PPC will be films by David Dhawan and Anees Bazmee, which will be released by the end of 2007. Further we are also planning a sequel to Malamaal Weekly starring Paresh Rawal in 2008,” he adds.


In the past 26 months, Percept Picture Company has delivered hits like Page 3, Hanuman, Malamaal Weekly, Corporate and Dor. Additionally, it has also entered into tie-ups with Madhur Bhandarkar, Nagesh Kukunoor and David Dhawan.
