MUMBAI :Prakash Jaju has been in the news since long. The financier and known as the star business manager to actors, has been at the receiving end. Priyanka Chopra with her family members have been pitted against Jaju and have already washed their dirty linen in the media.
Then there was a lull before the storm. Prakash Jaju is changing gears. He is diversifying into the business of exhibition in a big way. He has already finalized about 10 places in his home-town Madhya Pradesh. Here he will set up his Cineplex with single screen cinema halls.
On being quizzed about the developments, he is surprised, but was eager to part the information. “You are right. The first centre will be opened in ‘Mhow’. The construction work is nearly complete and the Cineplex will start functioning from January next year. Each of them will have single screen cinemas with 300 seats and latest-state-of-the-art equipment and latest technology. The ground floor will comprise of supermarkets. The restaurants and some shops will be on the first floor while the third one will accommodate the cinema hall,” he says.
The estimated cost of each is estimated around Rs. 30 million (Rs. 3 crore). That works out to a whopping Rs. 200 million (Rs. 30 crore). Smilingly Jaju adds, “Are baba, I’m into financing too. I have arranged my finances through Oriental Bank of Commerce. All the 10 cineplex are housed under my company, ‘Prakash Jaju Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.”
So is it goodbye to managing stars? To this he overtly replies, “Of late, I’m handling the business of actor Tanushree Dutta and will continue doing it so. Even the financial management will be going along side-by-side.”
