Pyramid to pump Rs 500 million in North

MUMBAI: Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd is planning to invest Rs 500 million (Rs 50 crores) in North India this fiscal. The amount will be used towards the construction of multiplexes, improvement of infrastructure and digitization, amongst other developmental activities, in the current fiscal. 


The company also inaugurated its first multiplex in Faridabad on 22 January. The three-screen multiplex is housed in SLF mail at Indraprastha Colony. This will be the first of the many multiplexes that the company plans to inaugurate in the National Capital Region. With this inauguration, Pyramid Saimira has added 522 seats to its existing capacity of 4,34,955 seats in all. Pyramid Saimira now has a total of 4,35,477 number of seats.


Pyramid Saimira Group managing director P Saminathan said, “We are extremely happy to foray into the National Capital Region, which is a pivotal market to us. We plan to invest Rs 50 crore in North India towards the construction of multiplexes, improvement of infrastructure and digitization, amongst other developmental activities, in the current fiscal… We have just started penetrating the Haryana market and expect to capture big market share in Haryana by end of 2008.”
