Mumbai: The advance booking of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opened this Wednesday,10 December at cinemas all across the country with a varied response at different ticket counters.

While in some Cinemas the advance bookings are not so encouraging, others have already managed good quantity of sales for the weekend and some others are hopeful that the booking will pick up gradually. But after taking everything into account, the advance booking is still low compared to any other SRK film.

Ironically Inox’s Nariman Point multiplex, which is situated in South Mumbai and is closest to the spot of the terror tragedy already has houseful bookings for six shows over the weekend. "We are also witnessing an encouraging response across our properties. We have sold 4000 tickets of Rab Ne… just on our portal since morning," informed Inox vice president programming and distribution Utpal Acharya.

Fun Cinemas AVP programming Bhumika Tewari said, "We have an advance booking of 15- 20 percent for the weekend in Mumbai, which is low compared to any other movie of SRK, but after the long lull phase at the box office since the last two three weeks and no advance sales, Rab Ne’s… advance booking is a ray of hope."

"Fame has sold 200 tickets for Andheri, Banaglore and Kolkatta properties till Wednesday afternoon, so the response across cities is uniform at our properties. We expect to do more sales in current booking than in advance, so this response is not disappointing," said Fame cinemas AVP distribution, programming and corporate sales Aditya Shroff.

PVR Cinemas head of programming Prakhar Joshi said, "The block bookings are better than the sale of tickets across the counter at our properties. Since it is Wednesday only and it’s been a few hours since the advance booking has opened it is too early to judge."

Cinemax vice president marketing and programming also opines that the block bookings good, but the across the counter sales are average.

G7 cinemas managing director Manoj Desai informed that the advance booking at his single screen property in Mumbai is 60 percent for the weekend.

Rab Ne… is playing in 10 shows in three screen multiplexes and in 16- 24 shows in five and six screen multiplexes. All the multiplexes are hopeful for the ticket sales to pick pace in current booking.
