Race to be dubbed in Tamil & Telugu

MUMBAI: After Jodhaa Akbar’s Tamil and Telugu version release, United Motion Pictures will now release Race in the two languages.

"We are looking at releasing the Tamil and Telugu version of Race simultaneously with the Hindi language one," UTV associate vice president, India distribution Suniel Wadhva said.

Race has been produced by Tips and is directed by Abbas – Mastan. "Race is a very polished film and has the scope of being seen in any language," says Tips managing director Kumar Taurani.

Race stars Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif and Sameera Reddy and will release on 21 March.

Elaborating further, Wadhva says, "With a Hindi version we are able to release only 10 prints of the film in South, but after dubbing the movie we can easily penetrate the markets with as many as 75-100 prints and even increase it gradually."

UTV will distribute Race in Bombay city and Delhi NCR, Inox in West Bengal and Rajasthan, PVR in Mysore, Bobby Arts in UP, Raksha Entertainment in Bombay (excluding Mumbai city). Negotiations for balance territories are underway. "We are overwhelmed with the response from sub-distributors. Race is fetching more prices than Welcome and in some territories it is almost at par with Om Shanti Om," concludes Wadhva.
