Rajnikanth’s Rana shooting dates to be decided in December 2011

MUMBAI: Post the health scare of superstar Rajnikanth earlier this year, Eros International Media has decided to postpone the shooting of their film Rana.

The movie, which will see Rajnikanth in a triple role, will be directed by K.S. Ravikumar and will have music by AR Rahman.

Speaking on the resumption of the shooting, Ravikumar said, “Though Rajinikanth has recovered fully well and is keen to start shooting, we have delayed the start of the shooting. We don’t want to rush him to start the film shooting immediately, as the film has Rajini playing triple role and has some stunning stunt sequences.”

Eros International Media MD Sunil Lulla added, “It is a proud project for us and we don’t mind waiting to  be a part of this ambitious project with Rajinikanth as we want him to rest for some more time. Hence we have decided to take the decision on the shooting dates in December 2011.”

Rana is a live action magnum opus with Rajinikanth playing triple role and will be released in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.  Along with Rajini, the film stars Deepika Padukone and Sonu Sood.

The director of photography is Ratnavelu, technical director is Soundarya Rajnikanth, whereas Charles Darby of Eyeqube Studios is the creative and special effects director on the film.

Eros International along with NextGen Films, will produce the film through Rana Production Ltd, UK.
