MUMBAI: Shooting of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Run Milkha Run may have to be delayed. A crucial casting continues to evade the film… and that is Milkha aged 11.
The adult Milkha will be played by Farhan Akhtar.
Scores of teenage boys have been auditioned and rejected. Not because there is any dearth of talented child actors in Bollywood but Mehra is not just looking for any talented child actor. It has to be a boy who matches Farhan Akhtar’s physical appearance in every detail.
Mehra tells Businessofcinema.com, "I am not looking for a child actor. I am looking for young Farhan. It has to be someone with the same jawline, cheekbones, eyes and nose. The young Milkha has a very important and lengthy role. This was the boy who witnessed his entire family being massacred during partition. I want a child actor who will convey the emotional depth that I expect from Farhan to convey."
