Ravi Chopra to distribute Deepa Mehta’s Water in India

Mumbai: Deepa Mehta’s much talked about film Water is set to release in India. The film has got a positive response in the overseas market. The film has been cleared the censor board with a ‘U’ certificate.

Interestingly, Water will be released in India by Ravi Chopra. John Abraham who is currently, working on Ravi Chopra’s Baabul also stars in Water. He therefore, urged Chopra to watch the film. Apparently, Ravi Chopra liked the film so much that he decided to market it in India.

Ravi Chopra was busy shooting for his film Baabul with Salman Khan and was unavailable for comment. Peter Martis the publicist of the film has confirmed the news. “Water is not a typical Bollywood entertainer and therefore needs to be marketed accordingly. However, looking at the Chopra’s who have a reputation of making socially conscious cinema in the past, it can be considered that they will market Water appropriately in India. It will be released in October,” says Martis.
