Sabsey Favourite garners 10.5 mn viewers

MUMBAI: Star Gold has received an overwhelming response for the finale telecast of Idea Sabsey Favourite Kaun 2008. In its fifth edition it has reached out to almost 10.5 million viewers across Hindi speaking markets, adding another 3.7 million viewers compared to last year.
During the three-hour special, the show featured electrifying performances by stars that lead to the channel generating 43% share of eyeballs, taking a leadership position in this highly competitive Sunday prime time viewing, comfortably surpassing MAX’s Hollywood Hungama and Zee Cinema’s slot. The show has performed well in MP, Orissa, UP and Delhi with more than 2.5 TVRs. 
India’s biggest and only Bollywood opinion poll, Idea Sabsey Favourite Kaun 2008 reached its pinnacle as more than two million Bollywood fans across the country voted for their favourite stars. The voting process for the awards covered 30 towns in India and over 60 countries internationally. Over 20,84,342 votes were received via SMS, the Internet (, televoting and on ground city visits and retail outlet activation.

We have not only created a benchmark in the movie genre but this is also a testimony of the popularity of Bollywood’s one and only opinion poll.”
