MUMBAI: Sahara One Media & Entertainment Ltd’s chief executive officer Shantonu Aditya has resigned from his post with effect from 2 April, 2007.
Aditya had joined Sahara One Media & Entertainment in June 2005, where he spearheaded the television (Sahara One Television), motion pictures (Sahara One Motion Pictures) and movie channel businesses (Filmy). The chief operating officers (COOs) of each of these divisions reported in to Aditya.
According to an official release, Aditya’s decision is based on his quest to pursue personal interests. “In the last 22 months, since June 2005, Shantonu Aditya has built a very successful business. Shantonu has decided to move on and we wish him all success,†said Entertainment Business and Aamby Valley City head Seemanto Roy.
Sahara One Media & Entertainment has recently seen a major manpower churn. In August last year, the COO of Sahara One Television – Purnendu Bose had quit. Prior to that in June last year the COO of Sahara One Motion Pictures Sandeep Bhargava had also quit and joined Studio 18.
Prior to joining Sahara, Aditya was president of the SET Discovery distribution platform.
