Sahara One readies film with 11 directors

MUMBAI: As the film industry is swiftly moving ahead, new concepts and trends are being churned out by the day. Now Sahara One Motion Pictures has a new project up its sleeve called Bombay Eleven, a film comprising 11 short stories, each spanning for 10 minutes durations, to be headed by 11 directors.


Incidentally, Sanjay Gupta has also readied a film called Dus Kahaniyaan, which will have 10 short stories directed by different directors.


A source close to Sahara One Motion Pictures reveals, “The film is based on Mumbai and each director will cover one aspect of the city. They will put in their own perspective and that’s how the film will be linked.”


Of the 11 directors, Kundan Shah, Revathi, Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra, Ruchi Narayan and Manish Jha are some of the names associated with this Bombay Eleven. Businessofcinema.com was the first to report that Sudhir Mishra has cast Soha Ali Khan for his short film titled The Ball, which is a part of Bombay Eleven.


The source adds, “Bombay Eleven has already hit the floors and will be released in a couple of months. The budget of this film is calculated around Rs 80 – 100 million (Rs 8 – 10 crores).”


On being contacted, Sahara One Motion Pictures business head Sharang Sharma, confirmed the news saying, “Yes, we are in the process of finalising things for Bombay Eleven. But I can’t divulge any details as of now.”
