MUMBAI: Indian Composer and singer Salim along with his brother Suleman has collaborated with two top RnB South African singers Loyiso Bala and Eric Wainaina to record the anthem for FIFA World Cup 2010. The song is written by Salim’s wife Jeanne Merchnat- a singer and musician herself. They are also performing the same at the opening event of FIFA on 10 June, 2010, at Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.
Comments Salim, “It’s definitely an honor to get the opportunity to perform at such a huge platform. In fact besides this anthem, we are also going to sing our song Shukran Allah from Kurbaan with Loyiso and Eric. Music knows no boundaries.”
Later they will also be performing for the fund raising concert for Nelson Mandela Foundation, a trust that is actively working towards providing medical assistance for corrective surgery of cleft lip & palate and bringing a smile on the faces of children.
