Salman Khan pumps up his brand value

MUMBAI: While Shah Rukh Khan is busy with the post release promotions for his latest, My Name Is Khan and Aamir Khan is trying to wriggle out of the copyrights issue, Salman Khan is going about his business and increasing his stock value in the endorsement market.

 

Salman is away in Panchgani, shooting for brother Arbaaz Khan’s home production, Dabangg. But the actor has been making short trips to the financial capital to shoot for his brands. The actor shot for a jewellery brand, Sangini with Kareena Kapoor, recently.

 

Carving Dreams head Afsar Zaidi added, "Salman has shot for two of our brands. One is Chloromint and the other is Scott, an inner-wear brand. This will be announced later this week. And I think he has one more in the FMCG segment."

 

Salman, until now has not been the poster boy of the advertising world. Keeping in mind his controversial character, brands were reluctant to associate themselves with him. But now that Salman is proving to be a good bet at the box office and as well trying to keep away from the headlines, brands are finding that he is an exciting find.

 

Says a brand manager, "Salman is a Khan and he is a star. He has not been over exposed, so there is always an intrigue element with him. And to boost all this, Salman has a very loyal fan following who always ensure that his films get a good opening. So with so many pluses, Salman’s career as a model suddenly looks very bright."

 

Advertisers are always on the lookout for a good role model and suddenly, Salman Khan is finding himself in the thicket of some good endorsements coming his way.
