MUMBAI: Vaada Raha, the latest offering by Samir Karnik (Heroes), will be the curtain raiser at the Norwegian International Film Festival on 7 August.

Scheduled to release in theatres on 11 September 2009, Vaada Raha stars Bobby Deol and Kangana Ranaut. It will be the opening film at the festival.

Speaking from Norway, Karnik said, "It’s a matter of honor and gives us such pleasure that we are getting an international platform to showcase our film."

"It’s great to know that our film is the curtain raiser at the Norway Film Festival. I am happy for Samir who makes meaningful cinema and it is encouraging for the film to be showcased on a world stage," added Deol.

A Top Angle Film production, Vaada Raha has been produced and directed by Karnik and besides Deol and Ranaut also stars child actor Dwij Yadav. A touching family drama, Vaada Raha comes after Karnik’s Heroes, which was released last year.
