Mumbai: Sanjay Khan, the brother of Feroz Khan and Akbar Khan and father
ofactor Zayed Khan, is planning to revive his banner. Sanjay Khan’s last film was Abdullah featuring Raj Kapoor in the title role in 1980. Sanjay Khan himself played the lead with Zeenat Aman. But it failed to evoke the desired response at the box-office.
Earlier Sanjay Khan had made films like Chandi Sona and Kala Dhanda Goray Log as an actor-producer-director.In 1989 he ventured out into TV. The Sword Of Tipu Sultan on Doordarshan was a hit. But mid-way the fire on the sets at PremierStudios in Mysore put a spanner to his plans of raking more ‘moolah’.Many lost their lives. Sanjay Khan too was injured.
In the millennium year, he directed a series called Maha Kavya Mahabharat. Last year he had announced Maryada Purshottam featuring Jackie Shroff. But the film has yet to see the light of the day.

Khan was vocal. “Let me clarify that the trade saying that Zayed Khan is turning intoproducer is all false. In fact his father Sanjay Khan is planning to revive his production house. Everything is in its pre-production stages and too early to comment more on the issue," he says.
