MUMBAI: Rajkumar Santoshi will direct a mega budget film for producer Ashok Kotwani, under the banner of Ankk Media, it is reliably learnt.
The production house has recently produced the Akshay Kumar – John Abraham starrer Garam Masala, in association with Venus Records and Tapes. The film was directed by Priyadarshan.
Ankk Media’s executive producer Sanjeev Sharma says, “It’s true that we are doing a film, which will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film will be launched soon; we are still working out the pre-production details. In fact, we plan to launch four films this year. Two are Bhojpuri ventures and two are Hindi films. Meanwhile, we are set to release our new Bhojpuri film Nirahua Rikshawala starring Dinesh Lal Yadav ‘Nirahua’ and Paakhi Hegde on 23 March, 2007.”
Ankk Media has earlier produced Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat, Mai Ka Bitwa (Bhojpuri), Ho Sakta Hai!, Enge Enadhu Kovithai (Tamil) and Maryada.
