Accidents and acting go hand in hand and this was proved true again when Saumya Tandon aka Rusty of Aisa Desh Hai Mera tumbled down the stairs during a shoot! Shooting at Kamalistan Studios, a scene required her to run down a flight of stairs, instead she slipped and came crashing down the whole way! Thankfully she didn’t suffer any major injury; however she landed up with an injured back, several bruises and a nagging
pain. Despite the pain she continued shooting and was back on the sets next day again for a dance sequence including.
Saumya says with a smile, "I did an X-Ray and luckily there were no injuries, but I was in lot of discomfort,
could hardly walk. But I wanted to continue my shoot; I know how valuable time is!” The unit was shooting late
in the night four days ago when the accident happened. Says Saumya, "This scene had me coming face-to-face with Samay (Gaurav Chopra) and it was raining heavily;I was struggling
with my dupatta and umbrella at the same time. My dupatta flies off, and Gaurav comes to my rescue and returns my dupatta, after which I run away from him scared through the stairs.
Then all I know is that I had crashed to the bottom of the stairs!” A day later, she was back at Film City for a taandav sequence which she did efficiently even with pain. Having learnt kathak, dancing comes easy to this talented actress. Producer Manish Goswami of Siddhant Cinevision which has done shows like Sarrkkar, Kitty Party, Daraar
and ongoing Kittu Sab Janti hai was full of praise for Saumya, "Despite the injury, she continued shooting and was very sporting about the special dance sequence” Interestingly, Gaurav’s recent entry as Samay in this Sony drama was supposed to have a big impact but it seems like his love interest Saumya already bore the impact of him in their first scene together!
