Shemaroo Entertainment bags 13 Indian DVD Awards

MUMBAI: The 4th edition of the DVD Awards for Indian Home Video DVD releases was presented on 5 June in Mumbai.

Shemaroo Entertainment won 13 awards for their DVDs, out of the total 20 awards.

DVDs released from 1 July, 2007 to 31 March, 2009 were qualified for the Award selection. The DVD Awards was preceded by a conference on the Home Entertainment Market in India.

Shemaroo Entertainment won the Best Animation Movie – National for Dashavatar; Best Direct to Disc Entertainment for Shilpa’s Yoga; Best Major Technical – Audio Presention- Studio – National for Jodhaa Akbar; Best Major Technical – Authoring Design – National for Jodhaa Akbar; Best Major Technical Video Presentation – Studio for Jodhaa Akbar; Best Major Technical – Menu Design – National for Slumdog Crorepati; Best Major Technical New Release – Regional (Bengali) for Kaalpurush; Best Major Motion Picture Cataluge Release – International for All About My Mother; Best Major Technical New Release – Regional (Marathi) for Aevdhe Se Aabhal; Best Multi – Disc Collection – National for Golden Era Of Bimal Roy; Best Packaging Design for The Big B unleashed and Best Music Performance – Platinum Asha.

Shemaroo Entertainment director Hiren Gada said, "It is certainly a proud moment for us, to get recognized for our work. We have been the pioneers in this business of making DVDs and have seen the home entertainment industry grow ever since. This award reaffirms our commitment in bringing out state-of-the-art DVDs and entertaining masses with our new releases."

On the other hand, Ultra bagged three awards for Videsh – Best Major Theatrical New Release – Regional – Punjabi for Videsh; Best Television Entertainment – National for Sanjay Khans’ The Sword Of Tipu Sultan and Best Packaging Design – National for Sanjay Khans’ Jai Hanuman.
