Shemaroo launches film restoration facilities

MUMBAI: Home video major Shemaroo Entertainment has launched its new DI (Digital Intermediate), film, video and audio restoration facilities.


The company has incorporated state-of-the-art solutions with Thomson “Spirit 4K” Datacine, Davinci “2K Plus,” Digital vision 2K DVNR, Bright systems Storage area network (SAN and NAS), Digital Vision – Nucoda “Film Master” suites for DI and DaVinci “Revivals” for film restoration and Lasergraphics film recorder “P4”.


In the visual effects and graphics sector, Shemaroo is now equipped with infrastructure required to achieve unlimited layers, compositing, chroma work, wire and rig removal, CGI, credit titles, supers, graphics, animation, 3D modelling etc using shake, combustion, smoke, after effects, 3D Max and Maya, says a release.


Recently, Shemaroo also organised a Digital Intermediate and Film Restoration Seminar, following which the new studio facility was launched.


Speakers from DAVINCI (USA), Digital Vision (Sweden), Thomson (France), LaserGraphics (USA) and Bright (USA) who addressed the guests on new developments in digital technology for film post-production business.


Producers, cameramen, film editors, directors and technicians from the film fraternity also attended the seminar.
