Shemaroo releases three music-based films

MUMBAI: Shemaroo Entertainment has released three films titled Heavy Metal – Louder than Life, Punk Attitude and Hype for music lovers, which it has exclusively licensed from Fremantle Media.

These films feature the evolution of the respective music genres, what it means to its hardcore listeners, their relationship with music and the bands they follow.

Heavy Metal focuses on fan following and listeners loyalty towards bands they follow like Metallica, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Megadeth, and Twisted Sister. Directed by Dick Carruthers the film will take you to a journey of how, nothing can lay a hand on Metal for power and how it influences each one of us at least once. The DVD comes with bonus features on the timeline of Metal bands and rare performance footage. Heavy Metal – Louder than Life Vol -1 and 2 is a two DVD set.

Punk Attitude is directed by musician Don Letts. The DVD features Punk Rock legendary bands like The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, MC5, New York Dolls, and The Stooges.

Hype is about the Seattle music scene and its effect on the music industry which was exploited by the media then. Grunge became a rage in the US and the whole industry wanted to know more about this new sound, out of the Pacific Northwest. The film, directed by Dough Pray, was showcased at the Sundance Film Festival and was released theatrically in New York City. The DVD features Seattle’s famous bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Monomen and Seven Year Bitch.

All movies are priced at Rs 499.
