Shringar acquires Gujarat theatre


MUMBAI: Shringar Cinemas Limited has acquired the City Pulse cinema theatre in Anand, Gujarat and has taken control of the multiplex’s operations from 30 March 2007.


City Pulse, says a release, is a three screen multiplex with 624 seats, and has been recrhristened Fame. The three screens will boast specially designed lighting, world-class projectors, fully digital sound with three-way surround system, 100 per cent computerised operations with facilities for Internet, SMS and home delivery of tickets.


With this acquisition, Fame now has 11 properties across India, aggregating a total of 39 screens.


Shringar managing director Shravan Shroff said, “With the launch of Fame Tapadia, we take yet another step forward in our journey towards spreading the Fame brand across the country. Having successfully set up Fame cinemas in Mumbai, Nashik, Pune, Surat and Aurangabad, we have emerged as one of the multiplex players that have a sharp focus on the tier-two cities as well” 


On an average, the multiplex will provide a choice of over six to eight movies per day; ranging from Bollywood, Hollywood and regional films.
