MUMBAI: Ramesh Sippy Entertainment’s The President Is Coming is likely to hit screens tentatively on 9 January.
The movie was earlier slated to release last week on 28 November but was postponed due to the Mumbai terror attacks.
The final date of the release will be frozen early next week. If it is released on 9 January, it will share screen time with UTV Spot Boy’s Dev D, which is directed by Anurag Kashyap.
As was first reported by Businessofcinema.com, producer Rohan Sippy postponed the release of the film in the wake of the tragedy. "It is a wrong time to release the movie. My film is a light hearted comic film, so its release in such times does not make sense to me. Moreover, since it is a small film, it was not very inconvenient to postpone the movie," Sippy had told Businessofcinema.com
The film will be released on Scrabble Entertainment’s 2K Digital Platform in India.
The President is Coming is the debut directorial venture of Kunaal Roy Kapur and stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Shernaz Patel, Ira Dubey, Anand Tiwari, Satchit Puranik, Vivek Gomber, Namit Das amongst others.
