MUMBAI: There is disagreement between Sony Pictures Entertainment and multiplexes over revenue share terms for Vishesh Films and Sony BMG’s forthcoming film Raaz – The Mystery Continues.

The producers of the film and its distributors Sony Pictures Entertainment are looking at a distributor and exhibitor share of 48:52 and 38:62 for the first and second week respectively.

Pertinent to note here is that these are the same terms that were sanctioned to the recently released Akshay Kumar – Deepika Padukone starrer Chandni Chowk To China.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com Sony Pictures Entertainment managing director Kercy Daruwala says, "We are in negotiations with the multiplexes currently. Nothing is decided."

On the other hand, all multiplex companies stand united on this matter and are looking at signing this film for 45:55 and 35:65 for the first and second week respectively.

It remains to be seen whether or not the two parties arrive at a middle ground and if so, at what terms it will be and when. This may very well set the trend for the revenue share terms of this year’s forthcoming big, medium and small budgeted movies.

Raaz – TMC stars Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman. It is directed by Mohit Suri and is slated for release on 23 January along with Slumdog Millionaire and 42 Kms.
