SRK’s KBC song snapped up by T-Series

MUMBAI: Star India has sold the audio rights of the new Kaun Banega Crorepati title song Karle Karle Koi Dhamal to T series.

The song, picturised on new KBC host Shah Rukh Khan, will be released in an audio CD containing the original and remixed version of Karle Karle….. on 10 February 2007. In addition to these two songs, the T series CD will also feature various other chartbusters from Shah Rukh Khan’s films including Main Hoon Na, Paheli, Swades, Chalte Chalte and the recent Don.

Says Khan, "I was doing three shifts at that time and was very tired, but Ganesh’s (choreographer Ganesh Hegde) dance steps were great fun and endearing and made me forget that I was tired. For the first time, Ganesh has lent his voice for playback and I am thankful he has done it with me. Also, it was Ganesh’s idea to present me in a different style. Now I feel I can also hip hop…and have become more acceptable to my kids as a cool father!"

T series CMD Bhushan Kumar says, "This song brings out the new SRK style and I knew it would be lapped up by his fans worldwide. Hence, it made great business sense to release audio CDs of the same."

Adds Hegde, "Shah Rukh was thrilled with my choreography for the song Main Hoon Don; he thought I made him look like a superstar. So, when he called me for this KBC song, I knew he was expecting something different."

Talking about the preparations that went into the ‘KBC song’, he says, "After Vishal gave the hook line Karle karle koi sawaal, I took over and conceptualised, sung, choreographed and directed the song. I am glad with the way it has shaped up and also the way it is being utilised to the optimum."

The song is also available as caller tunes and ringtones exclusively with  Airtel whose brand ambassador is Shah Rukh Khan.
