MUMBAI: Star one in its slot ‘Screen One’ would be screening the Sanjay Gupta directed film Kaante. The cast of the film includes: Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Kumar Gaurav, Sunil Shetty and Mahesh Manjrekar.
Inspired by the Hollywood flick Reservoir Dogs, Kaante is the story of six strangers who come together for a crime. The story is about 6 Indians in LA who come together for one last heist of their crime-infested lives.
Major (Amitabh Bacchan), Ajju (Sanjay Dutt), Marc Isaak (Suniel Shetty), Andy (Kumar Gaurav), Baali Mahesh Manjrekar) and Mak (Lucky Ali) are petty criminals who are always hauled up whenever the cops are in search of suspects. The logic being, “if they have committed a crime once, what’s to stop them from committing another?” Tired of being scapegoats to the policemen’s fancy, the six decide to get back in their own way – by robbing the Service Bank, where the LA cops have their accounts.
So they plan and carry out the heist, only to realize that the police had somehow got wind of their mission. Desperately trying to save themselves, they split up and finally make it to the place where they had planned to meet. Only then is it revealed that one of them is an undercover cop. Criminals being criminals, each one of them immediately start doubting each of the other five. What happens next and who is the cop forms the rest of the narrative.
