Subhash Ghai to launch Whistling Woods Institute in Spain

MUMBAI: Mukta Arts chairman and managing director Subhash Ghai is planning to launch his media and entertainment school Whistling Woods International in Spain.

Ghai has signed an agreement with the Provincial Government of Valencia represented by Spain minister of culture Jose Luis Villenueva to set up a Whistling Woods International Institute for Asian and European students at Alicante Film City on 9 July.

As per the agreement, Whistling Woods International will provide expertise, knowledge and programmes to the Spanish Film City, which in turn would provide the best of infrastructure, technology and facilities to all international students in the film city.

Ghai said, "The government of Spain could see the success story of Whistling Woods in Mumbai and hence invited us to set up another world class institute complex.

Also for Mukta Arts, this is a part of our expansion plans of setting up Whistling Woods Institutes in various countries to educate and develop software for the international market. We are glad to begin with Alicante Film City, which is the best film city in the world. Asian and Indian students will be exposed to the World Cinema and multimedia very soon. It is a great platform for them to be in the international market."

Whistling Woods Institute dean Lohn Lee added, "This is a great beginning for Whistling Woods to expand its wings worldwide including India. Education in media and entertainment is the need of the hour everywhere and we are fully equipped for it."
