Sun City booking clerk assaulted by NCP workers

Sun City cinema at Vile Parle (E) was attacked by 15 NCP workers at 4.00 pm today. Few members of the NCP came to the theatre to watch the Hera Pheri show at 5.00 pm but when they were told that tickets were not available they turned rowdy and tried to interrupt the 3.00 pm show that was going on. They then called some more Congress members and assaulted the booking clerk of the theatre.

A man claiming to be from the censor board also came in and started demanding the censor certificate. It was only when thing got out of hand that the owner Yusuf Lakdawala complained to the local police station Vile Parle and also called up the commissioner A.N Roy. “I was scared that this entire episode would turn into a Fanaa episode so I had to make a complaint. The show is running houseful after a long time and they tried to create problems,” says Lakdawala.
